Rainy Season Part 1 2015

Disclaimer: Not for the easily grossed out.

This email could have been titled "Night Bus Nightmare". At about 2:30am I started feeling rumblings in my stomach, followed by quite a bit of uncomfortable air and burping. Which I was hoping would just pass. Then I felt the same as I did last fall in Cannon Beach when I had my first bout of food poisoning.   Julio was asleep and in the aisle seat. He was rudely awaken by me slapping him awake and saying I needed the bathroom NOW. I stumbled down the steps to the microscopic (think small plane bathroom) bathroom, closed the door and found the light and opened the toilet just in time. Julio thought I was motion sick. I assure you this was not the case. I had a couple other close calls and thankfully no one else was using the bathroom.

I can count on one hand the times I've puked, non alcohol related. 2nd grade in class, last fall, and last night. It is possible when I was younger than 2nd grade and don't remember.

I'll spare the other details. I'm just thankful for that bathroom that was actually clean before I got to it, had running water and toilet paper!!! I spent entirely too much time in it.

I'm still not feeling that great. I've been able to keep down papaya, coconut water and Gatorade. Thankfully Julio is a very good care taker.

Other than that, we've spent our days buying stones, beads, wire, working a little and eating. I've watched far too many movies on Spanish since Mexico City was rainy every afternoon and or night.

Communication, understand and patience (on both our parts) has been a million times better. We started reading The Four Agreements together. Julio is reading his Spakish version aloud and I'm following along in my English version. It's really amazing how such simple things can change a persons entire outlook.

This has nothing to do with travel but these two books have really helped me in the last couple months. I feel so much more liberated. 1.  The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing
2. The Four Agreements

Hope a is well with you!
xoxo!
