I'm sitting in the Atlanta airport hoping I'll get on the next flight to Guatemala City. After not making it on two flights in Portland last night and making a 11pm decision to rent a car and try Seattle, which wasn't over sold on every flight out. No one told me it was a spring break nightmare. At midnight I was a passenger with another stranded in Portland standby traveler and we rented a car and headed north for a 3 hour drive. Went rather smoothly and we napped in the car after getting gas and getting close to the airport. I was lucky and made it on the first flight to Atlanta!
I am already a day late for my retreat but My heart is already there. I'm meeting the teachers from India for 3 more weeks at Lake Atitlan Guatemala. The retreat center is this http://thehermitageretreats.com/
And no I'm not joining a cult but there could be worse things if I was. :)
Sorry this update was started below last week. I'm sleep deprived. If I didn't see you recently let's make a plan soon! But don't message me on Facebook messenger. :) I'll have very limited time and very very limited access to Internet. See you in April!
I returned from India feb. 28th with a refreshed interest in life but a very bad case of jet lag and sore muscles. The return travel time was torture. I left my hotel in Rishikesh at 4pm on sunday afternoon, which was 2:30 am Sunday morning in Portland. I arrived home Monday around noon. A taxi, 3 flights, 3 layovers and a lyft ride later.
India was amazing amazing amazing. I can't even pretend to be able to describe all I saw and experienced. Buddhist cave chants to vedic astrology. I'm in love with the Hindu gods and rituals. I'm even more in love with the food. If you want to know more invite me over for a vegetarian Indian meal. ;0
I felt that the best thing for me is to continue with what I had been doing in India was to go to Guatemala! I leave soon. 3 more weeks of mediation and yoga. Reality will be waiting for me when I return.
